| GLENN HUGHES Supports Japan; Video AvailableFamed manager Alan Niven, the man who managed GUNS N' ROSES and GREAT WHITE to multi-platinum success, is helping to put together a novel charity project to raise funds for victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. "It’s called Artists Support Japan," says Niven, "and the idea, which began with Graham Thomas, an old friend and former CEO of Saatchi and Saatchi is for artists to record an acoustic song with an iPhone or whatever, something immediate and real and of the moment, and attach a message of support. Once we have enough clips we’ll put them on our You Tube and Facebook sites, and the fans get to see fresh and unusual performances. We’ll go to business and ask them to donate to the fund. It's early yet but perhaps a company like Coke might get interested once the site is of substance. If Sandra Bullock can give a million then perhaps we can find a company to make a meaningful donation in return for site sponsorship and we can raise more than the usual benefit gig and without the huge carbon footprint. Individuals will also be able to donate personally." Amongst the artists already committed are PAUL RODGERS, GLENN HUGHES, QUIET RIOT drummer Frankie Banali, TWISTED SISTER frontman Dee Snider and L.A. GUNS' Phil Lewis.
