DEF LEPPARD's Phil Collen Likes To Do The Rock Star Thing

Friday night after frantically finding a parking spot around Hollywood Blvd I rushed into a Mexican Restaurant looking for Phil Collen. After talking with the hostess I realized he never ended up eating there and is still at the Guitar Center preparing for his Guitar Center Session.

I got a chance to meet up with Phil Collen before his performance. Up in one of the many waiting rooms in Guitar Center, Phil had an entourage of people with him, including his extremely supportive and loving wife.

We finally found a quiet place to sit down where I had a chance to have a one on one with him and get a more personal look into the life of the guitarist of DEF LEPPARD. His amazing success began in the 80?s when he replaced guitarist Pete Willis. Today, he is in the process of creating a record label, Muda Music, sometime next year.

Alors que Phil Collen de DEF LEPPARD est au NAMM et qu'il présente sa nouvelle Jackson signature, après avoir fait parler de lui avec son (très bon!) projet MANRAZE et certaines participations à divers magazines pour vanter les bienfaits du Fitness notamment, il annonce que le groupe est entrain de finaliser le prochain album, dans le studio de Joe Elliott à Dublin, qui sortira au mois de mai de cette année!
Année particulière pour les Léopards car cela fait 20 ans (le 08.01.1991) que Steve Clark nous a quitté. Songs From The Sparkle Lounge date déjà de 2008 et avait marqué un retour en force du groupe de Sheffield en renouant avec le Hard Rock qu'il sait si bien faire. Après des années 2000 en demi-teinte ( X en 2002 n'avait pas convaincu, et le groupe nous avait ensuite servi que des best of et album de covers ), un retour gagnant en 2008, le groupe est attendu de pied ferme .
