| PRIMAL FEAR - Pictures From The Studio Available
PRIMAL FEAR, who are currently working on a new album, have posted the first round of pictures from the studio. Check them out at this location. As previously reported, frontman Ralf Scheepers recently checked in with the following update: "As we will start to record the drums for our new album this Friday (November 28th) I will take the opportunity to tell you how excited we are to bring our ideas on the hard disk in the next few weeks. Mat, Henny and Magnus have prepared such a great pre-production already, that I can proudly announce to have finished with my vocal recordings for two songs already in advance at my studio at home. As mentioned above, Randy will start to hit the skins this Friday and we can't wait to hear his power drumming on the new tracks. The new material sounds amazing and it's gonna be hard to pick 12-13 songs out of the 20 we have composed so far....watch out for news on the Primal Fear homepage." Cheers, Ralf

| PRIMAL FEAR - New Album Teasers
In the few days off between Christmas and New Years, chief songwriter/bassist Mat Sinner gave BW&BK a gift, inside information about the forthcoming album 16.6 (Before The Devil Knows You’re Dead!). In the holiday tradition of "re-gifting" we're passing his present on to you! "This time we will keep it all in the 'family' and even mix with Achim (Koehler) & Dennis (Ward) at the House Of Music. We had a great time and everybody did a fantastic job. There's nearly 80 minutes of metal, from total traditional, some little modern experiences, some long and musically sophisticated stuff and even a suprising acoustic ballad with different singers!" As previously reported, the album is scheduled for release in May '09 (via Frontiers), with an extensive tour to follow, soon after the release.

Holidays? Well, not a lot - Ralf (Scheepers - vocals) was recording some more parts for the final two songs and we are ready and thrilled to mix the album, starting on January 5th at the House Of Music studio. We will post some more updates on final songtitles etc. soon!" | étape par étape, mixage terminé, place au mastering !
German power metallers PRIMAL FEAR have finished mixing their new album, "16.6: (Before The Devil Knows You're Dead)", at House Of Music studios in Winterbach, Germany with Dennis Ward and Achim Köhler. The CD, which is tentatively due in May via Frontiers Records, will mark the group's first release with guitarist Magnus Karlsson (ALLEN/LANDE, STARBREAKER), who replaced Stefan Leibing last year.
Commented the band: "A very long recording period is finished now and we're all very satisfied about the result. We've recorded nearly 80 minutes of music and finally 14 songs plus some introductions. Now, after two days without any mixing, decisions, fresh air and sleep, it looks like we've created the most sophisticated and diversified album of our career.
"What can we say?! The music includes a lot of the vibe of our very first albums, like 'Chainbreaker', 'Running In The Dust', 'Nuclear Fire' or 'Metal Is Forever' — some real dedicated traditional metal! But a new PRIMAL FEAR album always contained some new musical challenges, real suprises ... and a lot of fresh and new elements this time!
"We are working on the final tracklist at the moment and we will master '16.6' with Ted Jensen at the Sterling Sound [in New York City] in early February. More news on the final song titles and the release date soon!"

| The German Metal Commando is back - 16.6 (Before The Devil Knows You're Dead) If your talking about today..s European top metal acts, the discussion is heading straight towards Primal Fear. If you don..t think so, here are the facts: the debut album "Primal Fear", "Jaws Of Death", "Nuclear Fire", "Black Sun", "Devils Groud" and their latest album "Seven Seals" all entered the Germnan album charts on Top 60 positions, plus chartentries in a lot of other European countries and in Japan. Their worldwide shows & tours became a huge success! Sold out locations everywhere and aside of their homecounty Germany, especially in places like Brazil, Spain and Japan! Packed venues and astonished, surprised Metalheads which could not understand what kind of thunder was raging above them. At the peak of their career, Primal Fear ended up the longtime partnership with Nuclear Blast & JVC Records iun 2006 and signed a worldwide multi album deal with Frontiers Records. Both Nuclear Blast and JVC released a final BEST OF album Metal Is Forever, which was a huge success in Japan and stayed for three month in the Burrn Album Charts. Primal Fear started the songwriting for their seventh bw first studio album for Frontiers Records in October 2006 and the recordings started shortly later, again at the House Of Music studio with engineer & co-producer Charlie Bauerfeind (Blind Guardian, Saxon, Hammerfall) and longtime producer and bandmember Mat Sinner. The band improved their sound with a lot of new ideas and a lot of courage. The album will be released worldwide on September 21st 2007 by Frontiers Records and charted in 4 major countries incl. 65 in Germany and 60 in Sweden. Frontiers Records proudly announces the release of PRIMAL FEAR new studio album 16.6 (Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead) on May 22nd in Europe and June 9th in the USA. Anticipated by a successful listening session held in Cologne, Germany, attended by the cream of the European Metal press, the new album is about to bring back Primal Fear to the throne of Heavy Metal. 16.6 is easily the most powerful, ambitious and interesting album in the band’s history. The vibe of songs like the opening track “Riding The Eagle”, “Killbound” or “Under The Radar” are reminiscent of the “Nuclear Fire” album but eh whole album features all the trademarks of the Primal Fear sound a the total dedication to pure Metal. There is also a new approach mixed with the trademark PF riffs in tracks like “Six Times Dead (16.6)”, “Soar”, “Smith & Wesson” as well as the epic stories, consummate musicianship, courage and fantastic melodies in songs like “Black Rain”, “No Smoke Without Fire”, “Torn” and the stylistically new ballad “Hands Of Time” with 4 band members all sharing the lead-vocals. “Our target was to write and produce the most diverse and interesting album in the history of Primal Fear and combine our past with the future” says Mat Sinner. ”The result went truly beyond our expectations and it will be a huge challenge to play these new songs on stage! The entire band is very proud of 16.6 and we hope all our old and even new fans will be totally satisfied!” After the Primal Fear / Sinner show in Moscow on April 4th, the band will appear in Norway on April 25th at the Haugesund Festival and in some summer Festivals. More shows are being booked in South America (with Sinner) in August, USA/Canada incl. PPX and the UK in September, followed by Europe kicking off at the end of in October(with Brainstorm) plus Japan & Asia t.b.a. | |

| PRIMAL FEAR Members Comment On Upcoming Tours, Issue Details Of Future Pojects PRIMAL FEAR have issued a new blog featuring a series of comments and updates from band members with regards to their upcoming South and North American tours, and futire projects. A few excerpts are available below. South America Ralf Scheepers: "It’s so cool that we can add Colombia to our map and rock there for the first time. We’re really sad that we can’t play Chile this time, but to come back in three beloved countries like Mexico, Argentina and Brazil is always a huge pleasure. I’m looking forward to present the songs of our new album to our loyal fans and rock the night. The communication and their enthusiasm in South America is always very special. There’s just one word to explain the atmosphere of a Primal Fear concert in South America: Electrifying!" Canada Randy Black: "Coming Home :-) ..... for me coming back to Canada to play with Primal Fear is a big thrill, not only because I’m from there, but because we’ve played there so little since I’ve been in the band. It will be great to finally play to the North American Primal Fear fans again too! I’m sure the shows will be rockin – I’ve only played in Canada ONCE since I moved over to Germany in 98, I can’t wait & see you all soon!" New Video Clip Mat Sinner: "We will shoot two new video clips during the next weeks. The first one will be released in September in connection with our TV campaign on iMusic TV and the second video clip will be released during the European tour in mid November! We will shoot a lot of interesting footage filmed in the forthcoming weeks, so we can present two really interesting clips for songs from the new album 16.6 – which songs? The first clip will have a South American, the second a North American vibe." Go to this location for the complete update. | |
