LITA FORD, WHITESNAKE's David Coverdale On That Metal Show; Full Episode AvailableLITA FORD and
WHITESNAKE's David Coverdale were guests on VH1 Classic's That Metal Show, on Saturday, April 2nd.
Ford and
Coverdale stopped by That Metal Show to discuss their latest albums. The following are a couple of sneak peek quotes from the episode:
David Coverdale talks about the song,
'Here I Go Again', resurging due to the film, The Fighter:
Jim Florentine: David,
'Here I Go Again' is bigger now then it was in ‘87. That song has just grown, I don’t know if you saw The Fighter, the movie…
David Coverdale: “Well I sign off on letting them use those things…”
Jim Florentine: That was a great part of the film…
David Coverdale: 'Yeah, well I don’t know how good it’s going to be, you look at the script, but to see Christian Bale, Batman singing your tune, are you kidding! It was amazing, very uplifting and inspiring. I thought the movie was great.”
David Coverdale talks about what 'Here I Go Again' is really about and that it was also a remake from a song he did in 1982.
Eddie Trunk: 'Here I Go Again' is actually a remake of one of your own songs, right?”
David Coverdale: “Yes I wrote the song in
Portugal documenting the breakdown of my first marriage, and 'Crying in the Rain' (at) the same time. And now it’s like this huge rock anthem wherever it’s played. Everybody has a different 'Here I Go Again' story and fortunately the majority of them are positive. The first time, when MTV was so powerful, which was such an incredible assist for us, it saved us like three years of hard road work getting that kind of maximum exposure.”
