Tickets For G-Taranaki International Music Week Selling Fast

Music-lovers are advised to get in quick if they want to see some of the world's best guitarists perform in New Plymouth, New Zealand next month.

Tickets for concerts during G-Taranaki International Music Week are selling fast, with one Midnight Session already sold out.

New Plymouth District Council general manager of customer services Cathy Thurston said many tickets have been snapped up by people out of the region.

"As we usually see in Taranaki, locals wait a while to get their tickets," Mrs Thurston said.

"If they are wanting to go then they need to get their tickets, we would hate them to miss out."

The festival runs from August 11- 15. It features performances by GUY PRATT, TONY LEVIN and LESLIE WEST, former GUNS N' ROSES guitarist SLASH (VELVET REVOLVER), ULI JON ROTH (ex-SCORPIONS) and MICHAEL JACKSON's former guitarist Jennifer Batten.

Roth will run three "sky academies" during the festival with music students, which include demonstrations and focused tuition.

Mrs Thurston said the academy numbers are looking "really good" and the other two midnight sessions are close to selling out.

"Slash is obviously proving very popular and the All Star Jam with Uli John Roth has appealed to a lot of people, especially the fans who were here last time."
