HAMMERFALL - "Canadian Audiences On This Tour Have Completely Blown Us Away"






Swedish metallers HAMMERFALL have issued the following update from the road:

"The good and the bad.

First, the bad: if there's one thing I really hate about coming to a venue it is when the club owner doesn't even care enough to advertise the bands coming on their billboard. It's like a slap in the face when you travel half-way across the world to play at their club and they can't even be bothered to announce it on the one thing that they don't have to pay for. To me, there's absolutely no excuse for it. I don't think it really helps to put it up the day of the show, yet it happens far too often for me to just dismiss it.

Then, the good, and it far outweighs the bad: Canadian audiences on this tour have completely blown us away! Yesterday in Edmonton (March 21st) and today in Calgary (March 22nd) was no exception. For me, the crowd today was the best of the whole tour so far, consisting of a lot of young people who so genuinely seemed into the melodic heavy metal that is our trademark. We bow to thee for the fantastic support and reception you gave us on our first visit to Calgary, we will be back!"

And an update from Vancouver:

"...Back in Vancouver again (March 23rd), last time we were here we had a couple of off days and it was summer. Absolutely beautiful city by day, but by night the shady characters come out. And unforutnately, Vancouver has a lot of them. The venue was right across the street from the Commodore Ballroom, where we played five years ago. After the show, we went bar-hopping in the short 80 minutes we had before they all closed. An Irish pub, a sports bar and finally something that was like a cross between the two. But they played MÖTLEY CRÜE when we walked in, so it was all good."

As previously reported, HammerFall had to cancel their upcoming concert at The House of Blues in Las Vegas scheduled for March 30th. Refunds are available at the point of purchase.

The band states: "We hope to have the opportunity in the future to play for all the resident headbangers in Vegas!”

The band are currently on tour in North America in support of their Billboard charting 2009 album, No Sacrifice, No Victory (#38 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart) with the finale planned for April 8th in Houston, Texas. POWERGLOVE will be opening for the first 18 dates on the tour; HAVOK will open the remainder of the tour following the Hollywood show. Dates are below.

This is Hammerfall's first North American tour in support of No Sacrifice, No Victory tour and with new guitarist Pontus Norgren and new bassist Fredrik Larsson (an original band member who played on their 1997 debut, Glory To The Brave). Tickets are on sale now at www.enterthevault.com
