RUSH Talk About Entering Canadian Songwriters Hall Of Fame; Hour-Long Video Available
Legendary rock trio
RUSH will soon enter the Canadian Songwriters Hall Of Fame. Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson tell Laurie Brown about their music in a new hour-long interview with CBC which can be found
here.
Says Lee: "The fact of the matter is, song-writing is probably the most rewarding part of anything that we do. In fact we are right in the stage of writing new songs right now. It's kind of very timely to get this award when you're in that state because it's a reminder of the gratification that you get when you put something together out of nothing. It's always to me, the most amazing part of the whole thing."
Rush will be inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame on Sunday, March 28th, at the gala held at the Toronto Centre for the Arts.
The five Rush songs entering the Hall of Fame are
'Tom Sawyer', 'The Spirit Of Radio', 'Limelight', 'Closer To The Heart' and
'Subdivisions'. As part of the induction, bands influenced by
Rush will be performing renditions of their hits.
ALEXISONFIRE will be taking on
'Tom Sawyer',
PRIMUS frontman Les Claypool and his band will be playing
'The Spirit Of Radio', and
JACOB MOON will be performing
'Subdivisions'.
