Hammerfest! i love Wales!
When I first arrived at Prestatyn few weeks ago I was pleasantly surprised, it was such a lovely town! I even wish i would have a summer cottage there.And the place where Hammerfest took place Pointins was also very nice, a cool place for people to party.
of course they all stayed throughout the 2 days! I enjoyed all the bands and I was surprised by Skindred, a band I'd never seen before. AMAZING!!!! I will definitely buy their albums! I had such a great time performing, although I went on really late after midnight! But I don't mind, I've done that before! :-) I am so thankful, it was my first show in UK! See you again at the same place in December! Hard Rock Hell!

End of the tour! May 2009!
The tour in Germany has ended and I'm back in Estonia to enjoy few weeks of vacation here and then fly back to L.A. It was so exciting to tour again and spend time in Germany! Although in general we didn't have much time for sightseeing, we got few days off here and there to relax a bit.As always I enjoyed the Italian and Chinese restaurants in Germany. They are definitely better then over here in US and in Estonia. We passed by them in lots of cities and places. I knew really well before and at the same time discovered new places I had no idea. Everything was so familiar, yet so refreshing. I really felt comfortable myself there this time around. I even started to speak more German. Before I was more afraid to speak, but now somehow it was so much natural. Lafee and her band and crew and everybody were very friendly and we settled in quite easily with each other. They were always in a good mood and made me feel at ease.
As always I got very excited when I was performing and it led to a few funny incidents. One time I jumped to the air at the end of "Rebel" and hit myself hard with the microphone. I ended up having a bloody mic pattern on my forehead.Ha-Ha, stamped for life! Another time in Switzerland I actually slipped and fell off the stage and it was quite high as well... I knew I had to get back on stage while the second verse was coming on so I used my gymnastic experience to jump back up! In the middle of the tour I also noticed that my knees were actually black from bruises, I had no recollection on how I got them, I had to assume it was because of my crazy performing on stage fueled by the adrenaline rush from performing. I met so many cool people, met my fans and saw people enjoying what I was doing. That's what I always had dreamed about! I want to think all of the people who made this tour happen and who helped me during the tour and all the fans! THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING!

Come as you are...
It's just disgusting to think how many companies are making profit from making us believe that if we don't buy this or that we are worth nothing! And I hate being a part of the world what considers D & ... and other brands like that as a status symbol. The IT bags, IT cars, Hot Spots, it is just an endless list of things we shouldn't even care about. And I wish people would just stop worrying about that, it would make everything easier. Those are the things I found hard to understand, even when I was growing up. I just wanna be who I am and feel free from the unnecessary pressure. I don't want to spend my life pretending to be someone I'm not. I've learned to accept myself and other people as we are. And I've made many mistakes along the way. But I know better now. That counts for everything else as well. I can't believe how many times people have asked me why don't you almost never smile at your photos? I mean I could understand where they were coming from, the entertainment world is filled with little "girls and boys" trying to please everyone. But I just hate the idea of smiling just because someone is taking a photo! If I feel like it I will do it anyway, but all the time asking me to that kind of thing kills it. And I believe in taking photos from moments, not every moment in life is filled with flowers and sunshine. I'm reading a book right now about Nirvana "Come As You Are: The Story of Nirvana" by Michael Azerrad. How appropriately named, don't you think? And everything came flooding back to me - the things I felt , growing up . I always have felt exactly the same as the author describes Kurt was. I always felt alone in my thoughts, I sometimes still do... You know, and I never really understood why I had so much against everything and everybody, until now... I felt the add one out, except I tried to deal with it trying to be perfect. I failed of course, cos you can never meet everyone's expectations. Nobody is perfect!
I sometimes felt like people seemed to be in somekind of weird sleep or trance from what they never wake up from and only I somehow woke up and throughout growing up I wondered how to get back to that. That way it seemed easier for me ...
But I was miserable, so I ve sworn since that , no more of that shit!

Estonian summer
It's been really nice to spend some time here in Estonia again. Summer is
really beautiful in here, it stays light almost throughout the night, and I've
watched many gorgeous sunsets and see the nature fully in bloom.
I also went to both of our traditional events The National Song and Dance Celebration
(www.laulupidu.ee/eng). I cheered my friends at the procession and it's always a great way
to meet your old friends you haven't seen long time or just to enjoy the music and the show.
This time it was different for me because it was the first time to be there as spectator because
I have always participated as a singer until now.But I must say I enjoyed it a lot!
I should say I enjoyed it a little bit more when I was one of the singers in the choir.
It is such a great feeling to sing together as one person the songs that are important
to our nation. After this holiday in Estonia I' m also missing my home in LA and I think it's time to get back
and continue with things as they were left off before the tour.

back in L.A . !

hey guys , Missed me ?

It feels so great to be back here. I actually missed our L.A. home a lot this time .Hopefully now I am going to get to spend some more time here . I have to say though touring was a lot of fun too . I experienced a lot and met a lot of cool people and most of all I got to perform a lot ! while it is nice to relax right now , at the same time I can..t wait ..till the next time !
The weather here is amazing right now and I finally feel that I..ve gotten used to the valley heat ..; ) and I am actually enjoying it , hangin..by the pool ,to catch some rays and dip in the cool water every now and then ..speaking about the tour , i got to expand my cd collection aswell while on the road . Bought the 1st and the last album by Nirvana , love them ! Got the Rammstein "Rosenrot" album, loved especially the song in spanish-" Te Quiero Puta " .
The other day I was browsing around WalMart , found a really cool- looking tote bag with Kurt Cobain on it ,I was very pleased ! ; )
Been also writing some lyrics and melodys ,maybe for the next album , we..ll see ..
keeping myself busy while staying in during the hottest hours of the day .

Marya Roxx announces Winter UK tour with special guests Voodoo Johnson and
Tribal law .
Marya Roxx follows up her well received Hammerfest appearance earlier
this year with a full UK tour kicking off this November in support of her
forthcoming album 'Payback Time'.
With main support/special guests on the tour from classic rock favorites
'Voodoo Johnson' and Weymouths 'Tribal Law' who will share the dates between
them .
Marya will also play sets at Londons Rock of Ages Festival Sun 22nd Nov and
N.Wales Hard Rock Hell Festival on Dec 5th lining up alongside the likes of
Queensryche , Monster Magnet , RATT and the New York Dolls.
Marya Roxx whose band also includes former Anthrax Guitarist Paul Crock will
be releasing her debut album produced by legendary producer Kevin Shirley

Back to basics !

Hey!

I hope you all are also excited about the forth coming tour in England , I am already there in mind ,I can't wait ! I hope to see most of you there ,who can't be there for logistical reasons I feel for you , but on the bright side you can later discuss the tour with the ones who were there and also probably check out the pictures later on .
Anyway I was also wondering how you guys feel about books , I 've been lately rediscovering them , since I have had a little bit of extra time in my hands . I read Generation X by Douglas Coupland and I really liked it ! The way the main characters handled the decisions everyone of us also have to face sooner or later in our lives was interesting and encouraging . I definitely recommend it ! I have been spending time in the bookstore a lot too , I am thinking of buying some classics and some philosophy books .
I hope you also enjoy a little bit of literature , what ever may it be .

Hi guys ! You know how I 've always mentioned that I am busy writing some new material , so guess what?
Great news - I 'll be going back to studio this weekend to record some new songs! The producer will be once again the Mastermind Kevin "Caveman" Shirley" himself ! I am thrilled to have him on board with us yet again . It is also exciting since I will be probably performing some of the new songs at the upcoming tour in England ! I can't wait to share them with all of you ! I hope you are all looking forward to that as much as I am !

The songs are almost done !

Hi everybody ! So as you know , I was recently in the studio with kevin"Caveman"Shirley as a producer and with Paul Crook on guitar, Scott Metaxas on Bass and with a new addition to our studio crew we had Anton Fig ( he works as a drummer on David Letterman ) on drums . We had amazing studio sessions and we chose 4 songs to work on . Now we have the music done , but I am going to work on some vocaltracs too towards the end of october . I want to thank everybody for their amazing performances ,everything went so quickly and smoothly ,and I am over the moon about what we already have done ! I can't wait for the end result to be ready ! Once again thanks guys for believin' in me !

Band rehearsal !

Hey! How are you all doing ? I am happy to tell you all that the England tour is not far anymore , and on next sunday I am going to fly out to New York to rehearse the new material with Paul Crook,Scott and Jim for the tour. It's been a long time since I 've been in New York so that should be interesting .But probably I won't have any extra time to go strolling in the Manhattan . Well, there's always next time , I anyway prefer the music to sightseeing and shopping ...I am really looking forward to get it on with the band , I bet it's going to be awesome ! In the meantime I have been singing everyday and trying to be really careful to not get sick. Now that would suck,cause I was a little congested during the studio time , so I have been medicating myself and just hoping for the best ..I'll try to keep you updated at sometime the following weeks ,so we'll see how it goes ..

Spent a night out in North Wales !

Hello everyone ! As You all know we did a band rehearsal in Jersey with all the guys - Paul Crook, Jim Roe and Scott Metaxas . We had a blast and I was reassured yet again that I have amazing people and musicians surrounding me ! During that time nothing was more important than the music . Which seems perfect to me . Anyway after we had the fun , was time for to get a bit more serious and we flew to Birmingham .We arrived a day before the gig at the Hellfire Festival ,so naturally we chose to go out . It took us maybe 2 hours to get to the place , but sure as hell was worth it , as it later turned out ! We arrived to a town called Oswestry in North Wales . It was the last date of Francis Dunnery's tour at The Walls ( a beautiful restaurant ! plus we had an amazing Sheperd's Pie there !) one of our friends was playing with him -Tom Brislin .
So the music was great and I was enjoying a relaxing environment and then all of a sudden , there he was - Robert Plant ,and he was going on stage and singing with his pal Francis ! I could not believe it , it was magical ! Later on ,after the show I managed to do a pic with him and I gave him my album too. He was very kind and friendly ! It made me feel so good about everything , I wish everybody would be so down to earth !
I feel so lucky !
