WHITE WIZZARD have issued a recap of their recent trip to London, England. An excerpt from the blog is available below:
"Touchdown at London Heathrow Airport, it’s 11:30 am Tuesday December 15th and the
Wizzard has arrived in England! We were immediately greeted by an enthusiastic cab driver holding a sign that read
'Chad Wizzard'. As we loaded our luggage into a VW van, Wyatt opened what would usually be the passenger door. We had no clue that Wyatt had planned on driving us to the hotel, lol. After determining that it would be a better decision to have the driver take us to the hotel, we made our way to the Royal National in Russell Square. The drive was like a video game on acid with pedestrians jumping in front of vehicles and
taxis barreling down the roads no matter who or what is in their way.
After a brief nap and a quick shower with outstanding water pressure, we met up with the Queen of English Metal, Miss Talita Two-Shoes along with
CROWNING GLORY bassist Al. We made our way out into the London streets to what would become our home away from home, the Crobar. Yes, metal filled the air, inverted crosses and DIO music transcriptions adorned the walls, Jagermeister and Budvar was served, and the bathrooms were horrifying. We had found paradise. There we shared a pint with Malcolm Dome from Total
Rock radio and decided to venture out and get some breast. They served a great BBQ chicken breast around the corner and Al filled us in on every detail ever recorded in the history of NWOBHM over dinner.
After dinner, we went back to the Crobar but not for too long. As you know, the
Wizzard is a very responsible group who adheres to a strict bedtime policy and night time prayers regimen. That is until we got a call from our good friend Karin who was in the lobby, and there was no way she was letting us
go out like such lightweights. Back to the Crobar it is. Who else is there to greet us but our twisted sister from another mister, Lucy HELLings! Jager bombs were poured, whiskey was passed around, and Budvar flowed like fresh blood on a battlefield. Apparently, bars in London can stay open as long as they bloody well want. Thoroughly sauced, we staggered back to the Hotel sometime close to daybreak."
