DOMAIN Close To Completing Work On New Album



German power metallers DOMAIN have issued the following update:

"After almost two years, the deed is nearly done. The finish of the (recordings for the) upcoming Domain album, The Chronicles Of Love, Hate And Sorrow, is within spitting distance.

Producer and guitarist Axel "Ironfinger" Ritt resides again at the Meadow Studios / Darmstadt, Germany, to put the final cut on the metal opera.

As previously reported, Domain's ninth studio album, The Chronicles Of Love, Hate And Sorrow, will be a concept album like the Last Days Of Utopia album, but this time arranged and conceived as a 'metal opera'.

Vocalist Nick Ruhnow created a 12 chapter drama, based on the legendary epistolary novel Die Leiden Des Jungen Werther by famous German poet Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. The opus will be performed by guitarist Axel Ritt, keyboarder Erdmann Lange, bassplayer Steven Wussow and Nick Ruhnow himself, enriched with hard and anthem metal, epic heavy rock and ballad elements.

Released for the first time in 1774, the story Die Leiden Des Jungen Werther became a key work in German literature regarding the 'Storm And Stress' period and describes an impossible love against all moral concepts, which provokes extreme emotional reactions up to the point of a spate of suicides among young readers of the novel.

The release date of the new album in Europe will be November this year, USA and Asia in January 2009.

the final tracklist and the artwork of the upcoming DOMAIN concept album „The Chronicles Of Love, Hate And Sorrow“, (Release-Date: March 13th 09) has been revealed!

The artwork was done by famous Brazilian metal artwork designer Gustavo Sazes, who bridged between the traditional DOMAIN artwork concept and the requirements of the album story.

The regular albums contains 10 tracks, one more bonus track will be added to the limited edition of the album.

Das Artwork wurde von dem bekannten brasilianischen Künstler Gustavo Sazes kreiert, dem es gelang, eine Brücke zwischen dem traditionellen DOMAIN Artwort und den Herausforderungen des Album Konzeptes zu schlagen.

Das reguläre Album wird 10 Titel umfassen, die limitierte Version des Album erhält einen weiteren Bonus-Titel.

Illegal Filesharing Organisation Busted!

we would like to thank you!

To thank all of our fans, who spent their hard money to buy our albums and download our songs from the legal download shops. Your are the true fans, the real fans, who earn our respect!

This attitude is all the more to appreciate, as we had the chance, by placing inaudible digital watermarks in our songs, to blow the whistle on an illegal filesharer organisation, which downloaded our actual album "The Chronicles Of Love, Hate And Sorrow" over 35.000 times (!) within only 4 weeks by the internet!

You can imagine how catastrophic the financial damage will hit a band like DOMAIN. All the lost money can't be invested in the music production, in touring or high quality merchandise.

Luckily, by using the watermarks, we brought the persons in charge to justice where they had to answer for their delicts. More investigations are in the offing. As far as we can see, this is the first time that a single music group defended themselves successfully against the abuse of their music.

As a band, we would like to express our gratitude to all loyal fans, who appreciate our work even in hard times, by not supporting the despicable steal of our works. YOU keep the band alive!

Diese Einstellung ist umso mehr zu schätzen, als dass es uns gelungen ist, durch den Einsatz von digitalen Wasserzeichen, welche unhörbar in unsere Songs integriert wurden, einen illegalen Filesharer-Ring auffliegen zu lassen, welcher unsere aktuelles Album „The Chronicles Of Love, Hate And Sorrow“ in nur 4 Wochen knapp 35.000 (!) mal illegal aus dem Netz herunter geladen hatte.

Ihr könnt euch vorstellen, welchen katastrophalen finanziellen Schaden ein solcher Missbrauch bei einer Band wie DOMAIN anrichtet. All dieses Geld kann nicht in Plattenproduktionen, in Tourneen oder in hochwertiges Merchandise gesteckt werden.

Glücklicherweise konnten die Verantwortlichen über die Wasserzeichen ermittelt werden und aufgrund der Beweislage einem rechtlichen Verfahren zugeführt werden. Weitere Ermittlungen stehen unmittelbar bevor. Unseres Wissens nach ist dies das erste Mal in der Geschichte des Filesharings, dass sich eine einzelne Band erfolgreich gegen den Missbrauch ihrer Musik zur Wehr setzt.

Als Band können wir nur unseren Dank an alle ehrlichen Fans aussprechen, welche auch in harten Zeiten unsere Arbeit schätzen und sich nicht dem verachtungswürdigen Diebstahl unserer Werke hingeben. IHR haltet unsere Band am Leben!
