Swiss Bliss

Now I know most of you regard what we do as really hard work and don't envy our rough on the road lifestyle but occasionally you get a job that seems more like a holiday. Mainly due to Roy and the other hard grafters of Festival Muisiglanzgmeind. (Check out the pics at http://www.muisiglanzgmeind.ch/ ) we had an excellent time this weekend in incredible chocolate box surroundings right in the heart of Switzerland. Lured to Grafenort a day early with the promise of unlimited food and drink, first class travel and accommodation and hot and cold running assistants to tend to everything in between (carry Grog over the mud on your back to the tattoo stand? Certainly!) I had to ask 'Have you got the right band?' I mean we were treated like rockstars! Of course it pissed with rain on the first day – what's a festival without mud? But the moon shone on Saturday when we took to the stage and played a kick ass set – if I dare say so myself. We had a brilliant family reunion with Eisbrecher who played a great set too, as usual, and I was really sad to go on Sunday, just as a traditional vocal group delivered mass to the muddy festival funsters under blue skies. Of the Swiss stereotype for neatness I think I can safely assure you that it still exists. Whilst cruising the business class lounge at Zurich airport for coffee and pickles I had a strange sensation that I was being followed. Indeed I was being shadowed by a woman with a mop who had spotted my muddy sneakers and was erasing my footprints behind me.

Greetings!!The spirits of hallowee'en have danced on our graves and disturbed us enough to crank up some juicy news flesh straight off the bone!

by paulharries

The three stellar entities of Die So Fluid have converged in London this month once again for rehearsals for their heavy duty 2010 touring schedule. November sees them filming not one but two new videos for future releases from the the 2010 album The World’s Too Big For One Lifetime. Also on the agenda are photo shoots with the talented Dijana Capan and Paul Harries. Rumour has it that one mastered track, leaked by DSF powers that be under duress, has a number of music business individuals foaming at the mouth in rabid desire. Once again the band would like to thank you for your patience while it is decided exactly how this record should be unleashed.
Grog says ‘This album has turned out so special, beyond our first imaginings, that each move we make feels weighted with the responsibility of not fucking up its delivery to our fans! We appreciate the way everyone is baring with us and expressing their anticipation with myspace comments and personal messages. You can expect a brand new look website and loads of great new stuff, such as the merch we mentioned earlier this year, which can now all be unveiled with a little more coherence.

Devolution Magazine is currently featuring Grog in the Saints and Sinners section of the latest October Issue 23 discussing the seven deadly sins. Go get yerself a copy! www.devolutionmagazine.co.uk

During this mysterious and tantalising lead up time to the release of the new album, Grog has found herself sought after in a session capacity again, notable events in her calendar having included gigs at Viper Room, Los Angeles and the Mercury Lounge in New York laying down some phat bass with a outfit called Livan. During this time she was introduced to the extremely talented and wonderful film writer/director Tom Dicillo (Johnny Suede, Living in Oblivion, Delirious..) whose work she has admired for many years. She was honoured to be invited by he and Will Crewdson, her very good friend from Rachel Stamp, to write and record a bass track for their cool project The Black and Blue Orkestre. There’s now another track in the works too.Read all about it here:
http://www.tomdicillo.com/blog/?page_id=192

We hope you had a very Happy Hallowe’en, nudge nudge, wink wink, and keep an eye out for more news as things hot up towards the end of the year XXX

LIVE XFM SESSION, METAL HAMMER POSTER, NEW REVIEWS!
The twisty turny dark hallways of Die So Fluid Towers are vibrating with a fresh pulse of excitement setting cobwebs a quiver, due to the huge influx of positive press from the recent tour and new album. Cuttings are being added daily to the press section at www.diesofluid.net, check it out, particularly great is the sparkling review from Steve Beebee at Kerrang! and the front cover of Sue Magazine in Finland.

Only one week left to pick up the Grog/DieSoFluid double sided poster featured in this months Metal Hammer magazine, it’s available in London and the South only so if you live elsewhere you’ll have to get your smoke messages sent quickly for your tribe mates to pick you one up.

Also VERY exciting news; towards the end of our recent UK headline tour we recorded a LIVE SESSION for Ian Camfield’s Rock Show at XFM. We recorded it with Pat Collier at Perry Vale studios, and guess what…
It will be aired this very Saturday 26th June,

the show goes out from 22.00 to 02.00 .

Listen online at
www.xfm.co.uk or tune in to

97.7FM Manchester / 104.9FM London
.

We recorded four tracks fresh off the road, ALL from the new album.
If you missed us on tour this time round or have only just discovered us, here’s a chance to sample some live vibes!! We'd appreciate it if you show your support Fluid Army, by tuning in and giving Ian some feedback! He's supported the band for many years now and he rocks.
~Cheers and adios for now friends~

Mr Drew has arrived safely in sunny California, where he's visiting me to work on material for the next album, and catch up on band business. Here's a pic of us yesterday visiting the G&L guitar factory in Fullerton LA where we were given a personal tour, I've been playing G &L basses for quite some time now and always sing their praises in interviews. In fact we gave away a G&L bass as a prize in Germany for our support band competition. Grog in Leo Fender's original office where many of his personal effects, plans, photos and prototypes still remain. In fact his spirit still lives on there, and employees have reported several eerie goings on! It's easy to imagine why when he designed guitars with such passion, he'd only just finished an early baritone the day he passed away. Notice the photo here of Leo presenting some extremely happy girls with a shiny pink guitar Very Happy I know that feeling
